Hi everyone...I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, I promise.
I was merely finishing my semester (2 As, thankyouverymuch), bailing my dad's van out of the pound (no worries, I have over 1/2 a post on THAT experience), selling my dad's van, making Shavuos, enjoying a lovely visit with my mom and her husband, and spent today emptying my basement.
Why was I emptying my basement, you ask?
Back in September of 2008 you all got to hear about the water in my basement here and here and here and here and here.
Then last May you all got to live through this.
Now, you all get to live through my basement renovation!!!!
Hooray! Today, we got the basement emptied. Tomorrow, they begin! Hopefully, in about 2 weeks, we will have a playroom, a laundry room, a bedroom, and storage-room-which-will-become-a-bathroom-at-a-later-date, and the all important grocery store room.
So now my basement looks like this:
future laundry and furnace room
another view of the future playroom.
But in order for the basement to look like that...
My den needs to look like this:
My side porch like this:
My kitchen like this:
My living room like this:
And my dining room like this:
Suffice it to say I will NOT be entertaining any time soon.
But it's all good...I'm getting a basement!! I can't wait. They say two weeks. I'm expecting three. I can live like this...it's no biggie.
Oh and for Shavuos the kids and I made a Har Sinai cake. I thought that I was so clever and creative until I found out that these are evidentally made all the time. Who knew?
Seriously though, how cute?!
