That's what I get for trying to do a good deed.

Last night, I stopped at Jewel to pick up some cereal (Extra points if you tell me how much I spent on 8 boxes of cereal). As usual, I went through the self check out. The check out over from me, there was a man that I know.

Why did I notice John (let's call him John so as to protect the culprit preserve his privacy)you may ask? Well he was using coupons of course.

But I digress as usual.

After he checked out, two guys started checking out next. One of them said "Oh look! That man forgot his bag!" And ran out to try and reunite John with his forgotten challah rolls.

It seemed that John had...ahem...driven away mighty quickly out of the Jewel parking lot.

So, since John only lives a few blocks away from me, I offered to drop his forgotten rolls off at his house.

As I drove away, I called his house to alert his wife to tell him not to go back to Jewel to retrieve the rolls.

I pulled up.

John was getting out of his car.

"Thank you so much! What did I forget?"

I triumphantly held the bag of challah rolls out of my window.

"Ummm those aren't mine, Sara"

"Are you sure? The guys after you said that you left them"

"Nope, I only bought Mothers Day cards" (reminder to all men here: Sunday is Mother's Day)

So back I went to Jewel.

It seems that the rolls belonged to the woman who checked out before John.

That's what I get for trying to be nice. A whole lot of confused people.

You still get a lot of credit for doing this good deed. You didn't know they weren't his.
