So. Last week Elisha, Shana, and Jakie turned seven. Madness I say, madness. Elisha and Jakie got new bikes.
Shana
got
her
life's
dream...
an American Girl Doll
My mom and I took the little Miss on Sunday afternoon. Her eyes literally bugged out of her head when we got there. Hers and the eyes of all 8 million hyped up little girls who were there. We browsed around a little, and then she found the object of her affections:
The "Just Like Me" doll. As you can tell, she was very, very excited.
Then it was time for a few accessories.
She looked around a little.
And found the first item she thought she wanted:
So first we carried it around a little.
Then she found a pair of jammies and a pair of clogs for the doll that she liked better. But I forgot to take a picture of it. Oops.
Then she hugged my mom and said thank you.
We stood in line to pay.
We got our bag that is as big as Shana is.
We took a picture by the big star.
Then we went home.
On the way home:
Me" "Shana, was this everything you ever dreamed of?"
Shana "Mommy, this was the best day of my entire life"
So I suppose it was worth it.

Hold on to that love. You're gonna need it in a year or so when she starts in with the attitude, if my girls are any indication.
You have gotten me so excited for shoshie's day with your mom and my mom at American Girl. I can't wait for her to have it!! too bad i won't be there to witness it but iw ill send along my camera.
Now we need pictures of the den!!
i remember getting my doll! i was gleeful. i still get gleeful when i goto the store win nyc. silly me
That was what it was like taking Devorah. It's such a magical place! (when I was a kid you couldn't catch me dead in a place like that, maybe if they had a He-Man store!)
shana is so cute.
I guess this is like the Cabbage Patch Doll craze when we were kids... I have 3 boys, so I'll never know...
you.got.sucked.in.
my girls will not be seeing this blog.
This story did remind me of my childhood dream of owning a Cabbage Patch Kid. I went into what my parents called "false labor" a few times (stores were out-of-stock), but eventually got my dream baby. 25+ years later, I went into "false labor" again, but this time being pregnant with triplets. What I learned... false labor sucks, no matter the age! I'm glad Shana didn't have to experience it, and that she had such a special day.
I suppose, Sara, this is your way of compensating for our Flower Patch kids.
Yum yum Shan by the way!
Rebecca
