I've gotta be honest here

I'm considering taking a break from blogging.

I feel like I'm talking to myself.

I totally get that it's your prerogative if you'd like to read and not comment.

But. really? Yesterday 170 people read my blog. And 1 person commented. The day before? 185 readers and 3 commenters.

I know, I know. You have no obligation to say a word. That's the nature of the (blog) beast. But would you sit in a room and talk to yourself?

It's pretty disheartening.

We'll see what happens.

This sounds dumb but I didn't realize how much comments were appreciated. I'm a lurker who really likes your blog. Now I'll be sure to leave comments more often! Have a good Shabbos.

I am not condoning my "Reading and not commenting" but I will also say that sometimes with your blog for some the first time I post a comment it never posts. I have to remember to go back and do it a second time. Maybe others have the same problem?

Same here! I love reading your blog - it's entertaining and inspiring, your kids are so adorable! Keep on blogging! Have a great shabbos!

sara - since i always talk to you 46 times a day, i figure there is no point in commenting. i always have comments that i say to aaron so i will try and be a better responder. still can't figure out how to post by myname so i will always be anonymous! -tamar

Frequently I read you, then leap out of my chair to go tell my husband what you wrote because you are brilliant. It's rare that I can keep sitting in the chair long enough to comment, but I promise to make more of an effort.

Hi! I think you should keep on blogging. I love reading what you write and am so proud of how beautifully you express yourself and how inspiring your thoughts are. For all of us out there who get so much from your blog, keep it up! With love, Mommy

well i think you're all doing a nice job stroking my ego.
I compare what I felt to getting up, giving a speech, and then everyone gets up and walks away without any acknowledgment whatsoever. Make any sense?
But I'm feeling a little better now.

The problem is that you're nice. You also say things that lots of people agree with. Want tons of comments? Go for contraversy. I just don't think your blog goes that way. I kinda like it the way it is. You save us phone calls.

Best,

I really enjoy your blog. I don't always comment because I don't really "know" you and it feels a bit stalker-ish to leave too many comments. ;) But, your blog is one of my favorites and I'd be bummed if you stopped!!

I also have the problem with the comments not going through the first time. Annoying...google, not you!

I'm delurking to say that you should keep blogging! I read all the time :)

I found your blog last year sometime, and I check back every so often because:

1)your writing style is very entertaining

2)I want to find out what Dovi is up to

I have a couple of blogs with what I like to call an "esoteric" readership (that means very few people read it.) And I get only a few comments at best. But that doesn't bother me. I use my blogs as a creative outlet, a way to express myself.

So you're not Pioneer Woman. It's still good to have a little place in cyberspace to put your thoughts, and at least you know that people are reading. Lurking is still reading, and reading is good, right?

I'll echo what a couple people have said - I'm a lurker and have been enjoying your blog for a while. But I don't know you, so like someone said, it would be weird to leave a comment unless I had something specific to say. I hope this doesn't weird you out but I find the Orthodox aspect of your life fascinating and love to learn to more about it through your blog. Also, I didn't realize the comments are so important! Sorry to be a negligent lurker!
PS I just tried to post this and it said it couldn't be processed so I also echo those people who mentioned that.

I don't comment enough. Maybe it's because I don't really know you irl so I think you will think I'm nuts. Ok, I really enjoy your blog and I will start commenting more!

I left a message right here yesterday, and it's gone today. No idea where it went. (Or what I had said.) Except this - I love reading what you write. I find your take on life to be so interesting. Sometimes it feels like you can say what I don't have the words to say. And I wish I could figure out how to be as organized as you are and get free/cheap items to stockpile!

Keep writing, please.

OK.. so I don't have the excuse that I don't really know you well, or that I speak to you often on the phone (sorry!) but I guess I am just not that much of a writer. I love to keep up with what you are up to and can really relate to a lot of the issues that you post about (although I admit to not being all that-OK maybe a little- crafty nor super thrifty!). I hope you keep blogging because I love to read your TRULY dead-on perceptions of people and appreciate your uncanny ability to get to the heart of issues without too much sugar coating.
I am SO sorry it didn't work out for us to see eachother when you were here in NY- so you now owe me a raincheck!

I just recently figured out how to comment since I always read you from work and my Linux based machine sometimes has a mind of its own. But I always love reading your stuff and it is always a downer when I check the next day and - thought it happens to the bets of us - there is NOTHING new. I mean I wait for it. This is my only connection to my nieces and nephews since the time zones never worked for me. I've since given up trying to call on Sundays, so your kids might not know me, but at least I get to know them a bit. Don't leave me.

If I had 175 hits a day I would pee my pants. The only time I had that was when I was in the Mr. Linky top 50 once on Not Me Monday @MckMama.

I have 4 kids. Sorry I don't comment. I have too many distractions. You can lurk my blo anytime you want, though. :D
