You have the most sports-obsessed boys I've ever met. My son, however, is like that with video games - all he wants to talk about are his Lego Wii games. I've learned to insert an appropriate "wow!" or "really?" and don't really have to pay attention.
Ahhh - memories of masking taped hockey rinks in my basement and getting my mouth knocked with a hockey stick and losing a lose tooth comes to mind seeing this.
That's my boy! Just like his Abba and Uncle David when they were young.
